Insurance killings accused says benefited from two husbands’ policies – SABC News
Accused number two in the case of insurance related killings and fraud has confirmed that she benefited from an insurance policy when her husband died.
Anna Shokane told the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court that she received R120 000 insurance payout upon the death of her husband, Andrew Makgarietsa.
Makgarietsa died in a car crash, in which he also burnt.
Shokane also admitted that she received an insurance payout when her other husband, Raiders Strijdom died.
State prosecutor, Kgaugelo Lekoloane cross examined Shokane.
“You covered him with accidental cover policy and it paid out after three years? It wasn’t accidental it was a normal funeral cover it paid after three years. Double it was R 60 000 and then R120 000, so they paid a double amount because it was an accident.”
