Foreign truck drivers stopped, robbed on the N3 near Villiers – SABC News
Two suspects are expected to appear in the Vrede Magistrate’s Court for blockading the N3 highway near Villiers in the Free State.
Police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring says two suspects, aged 52 and 68, were arrested on the scene for common robbery.

He says it was discovered during a preliminary investigation that a group of people stopped the trucks and removed the keys from the foreign drivers.
Mophiring says it’s alleged that the group was accusing them of taking their jobs. He says five foreign national drivers alleged that their cellphones were taken in the process.
He says the road was opened for traffic after four hours, with a joint operation, consisting of other law enforcers, private security and road management services.
