Malema visits Chweneyagae’s family to convey his condolences – SABC News

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has remembered late actor Presley Chweneyagae as a talented role model who did not look down on people.

Malema is visiting Chweneyagae’s family at Orchards in Pretoria North to convey his condolences.

Chweneyagae passed away last Tuesday at the age of 40.

On Tuesday, industry players, friends, family and members of the public celebrated his life at a memorial service in Mmabatho in North West.

Malema spoke to the media after his visit.

“Presley has been a good actor and put SA on an international map when Tsotsi won an award internationally. When a brother like that passes on, especially at the age of 40, it should be a concern to us to come and hear from the family as to what happened, and we send our condolences to the mother and the wife. He was a very good role model who showed talent and his interaction with people.”

A second memorial service will be held at the State Theatre in Pretoria on Thursday.

Malema is accompanied by the EFF’s provincial leadership, including provincial chair Nkululeko Ndunga and provincial secretary Moshe Sewengu, as well as representatives from regional structures.

Obakeng Ramabodu is among those present at the family home, where he will express his respect and offer his condolences.

There are a number of EFF members and supporters outside.
