Bloubergstrand parents arrested for alleged sexual abuse of their two daughters, aged 3 and 8

The South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested a Bloubergstrand couple for allegedly producing child pornographic images featuring their daughters, aged three and eight-years-old.

The pair, aged 47 and 48, also faces charges including the sexual abuse, rape, sexual assault, and sexual grooming.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk, said the operation leading to their arrest was conducted by a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

“This included members from the national and Western Cape Serial and Electronic Crime Investigations (SECI) Units and officials from the Department of Social Development (DSD), with vital backing from the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

Through a meticulous joint investigative effort, authorities were able to locate the suspects at a residence identified as central to the ongoing investigation,” she said.

During the operation, several electronic devices were seized, which are expected to provide crucial evidence as the investigation progresses.

The girls have since been rescued and taken to a place of safety.

The pair will appear in court soon and investigations continue.
