‘Andre Lincoln died of broken heart in a corrupt country’ – SABC News

Anti-apartheid activist, Reverend Allan Boesak, says the late police veteran, Major-General Andre Lincoln died of a broken heart in a corrupt country that does not reflect what he fought for . A special provincial funeral service for Lincoln is underway at the St. James Church in Kenilworth, Cape Town. Lincoln died two weeks ago aged 63. He has been described as a key figure in South Africa’s law enforcement landscape with a career that spanned nearly four decades.

Boesak says Lincoln stood for truth.

“He did not fight for this, he did not fight for the shame of people stealing, he did not fight for the permanent state of impoverishment of our people, he did not fight for the reinstallation of  racialism. He did not fight for the corruption that we’re faced with, that drags us down and never makes us lift our heads high amongst other communities.”
