Motorists urged to behave responsibly ahead of Youth Day – SABC News
Ahead of the Youth Day Celebrations the Gauteng Traffic Police have made an impassioned plea to motorists behave responsibly.
Spokesperson Sello Marremane says increased traffic volumes are expected as the youth begin to commemorate the occasion making their way to various destinations.
Maremane says statistics show that the youth account for a high number of road fatalities annually. Therefore, driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding will not be tolerated.
” It is important for the youth to realise that many companies do not employ people who have a criminal record caused by irresponsible behavior such as drinking and driving or speeding. Our youth is therefore, urged to see the seriousness of complying with the law. We have beefed up the enforcement ahead of the celebrations to ensure that everyone is safe.”
