Ramaphosa meets with Canadian president ahead of G7 summit – SABC News
President Cyril Ramaphosa had his first bilateral meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney upon his arrival in Canada for the G7 summit.
He’s an invited guest at the summit in Kananaskis, Canada.
The Prime Minister of Canada as G7 President, is expected to seek agreements and coordinated action on several fronts.
They include global peace and security as well as trade. From global economic stability and the digital transition, key role players from around the world will gather to discuss at the annual summit, where the war between Israel and Iran will be hard to avoid.
Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya earlier said the gathering would allow President Ramaphosa an opportunity to strengthen G7-G20 cooperation.
Ramaphosa is also expected to meet bilaterally with the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrick Merz, and with United States President Donald Trump, a mere three weeks after their breaking of bread at the White House in late May.
