Twelve people have been killed following a collision between a truck and a bus on the R34 near Vryheid just after midnight.

It’s alleged that the truck collided with a bus. It’s unclear what may have caused the accident.

Ten other passengers were seriously injured and taken to nearby hospitals.

The bus was carrying supporters of a political party who were attending Youth Day celebrations in Durban.
