Man accused of Likhona Fose’s murder back in court tomorrow – SABC News

The man accused of murdering Likhona Fose, 39-year-old Mduduzi Mnisi, is expected to appear before the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for a formal bail application.

Mnisi appeared briefly before the same court last week.

He faces a charge of premeditated murder, among others.

This after Fose’s mutilated body was discovered in a veld near her home in Durban Deep, earlier this month, a day after she was reported missing.

Gauteng NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane says the state will oppose Mnisi’s bail application as he has previous convictions of robbery and attempted murder.

“Yes, the matter has been postponed to the 18th, to allow the state to conclude its investigation in respect of the bail application that the accused wants to bring before court. So, it will include the profiling of the accused, checking whether or not he has any previous convictions and whether or not he has any other cases against him – as well as whether or not he was previously released on parole.”
