The accused in convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester’s prison escape case will be back in the Free State High Court in Bloemfontein on September 19 for a pre-trial hearing.

The hearing will determine whether all parties involved are ready for the trial.

The trial itself has been set for November 10 this year until March 27 next year.

Bester, his girlfriend Dr Nandipha Magudumana and others appeared in court yesterday for a case management hearing.

All the accused, except for Bester and Magudumana, will be represented by Legal Aid South Africa.

One of the accused, Zolile Sekeleni’s application to be granted legal aid was declined.
