Most KZN EFF members discharged following bus crash – SABC News
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in KwaZulu-Natal says most of its members who had been hospitalised following a bus crash on the R34 between Ulundi and Vryheid on Monday night, have been discharged.
The bus was carrying EFF supporters who attended the party’s national Youth Day rally in Durban.
It is alleged that an oncoming truck struck the bus on its side, ripping it open.
The crash claimed the lives of ten people.
EFF Provincial Secretary Vukani Ndlovu says few of those who are still in hospital are expected to be discharged today.
Ndlovu says, “I think there’s only three and the driver of the bus, so there are four in total, but they are also in good spirit, they will tomorrow be released as well. They are just awaiting the few check-ups and either I don’t think that there’s anything major or to worry about. I think that’s the report that we got inside. We had a look at them, we spoke to them and I think they are fine.”
