Shivambu not on MK Party’s nine new MPs list – SABC News
The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has announced nine Members of Parliament (MPs) designates to be sworn in at the National Assembly this coming week but the name of former Secretary- General, Floyd Shivambu is not on the list.
In a statement, the party’s chief whip Colleen Makhubele says the new members will fill vacant seats.
The nine members set to be sworn in on Wednesday include former EFF MP Khanyisile Litchfield, Lungisani Shangase, Bhekumndeni Mtolo, Zibuse Cele, Siphetho Mkhize, Philasande Mkhize, Gift Motaung and Noma Buthelezi.
“These individuals bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the MKP and the National Assembly. Their contributions will strengthen our efforts to serve the people of South Africa and uphold the values of democracy, equality and justice.”
On Thursday, Shivambu held a media briefing following his demotion from the MKP and mentioned interest of possibly forming his own political party but was still consulting.
