Three teachers killed in Eastern Cape crash – SABC News
Three teachers have died while two others have been critically injured in an accident involving a bakkie used as a teachers’ transport in Ngqeleni, near Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
Provincial Transport Spokesperson Unathi Binqose says the teachers were on their way to school when the incident occurred.
Binqose says officials are on the scene.
He says, “A very unfortunate and a very tragic incident that claimed the lives of three people. These were teachers on their way to school; people who had a meaningful role to play in our society, whose lives were cut short in the blink of an eye.’
Binqose says, “The details of how the incident occurred and the identity of those who have been victims of it are still unknown at this stage, as it is an active scene. Our primary responsibility at this save as many lives as possible.”
