Watch: Kriel, the bullish Bok samurai
Celebrate double world champion Jesse Kriel’s appointment as Springbok captain with a look back on the veteran centre’s career for club and country, and across the globe.
One half of the most-capped Bok midfield partnership in history, the 31-year-old Kriel – who has 79 caps and two World Cup medals since making his Test debut in 2015 – leads his country for the first time against the Barbarians in Cape Town on Saturday.
The Maritzburg College alum, currently playing domestic rugby for the Canon Eagles in Japan, burst onto the scene with the Junior Boks in 2013 before making his name as an all-round threat in the Vodacom Bulls backline.
