Police officials accused of graft by Mkhwanazi must be arrested: MKP – SABC News

Members and supporters of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party  (MKP) have started to gather at Church Square in Pretoria ahead of their march to the Union Buildings.

Defence for South Africa and other civic movements have also organised a march from Marabastad to the Union Buildings to demand President Cyril Ramaphosa’s immediate resignation.

The MKP’s march is the second in Gauteng this week.

This comes as the party intensifies its support for KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi following his allegation that senior police officials, including Minister Senzo Mchunu, are corrupt.

The Party’s Gauteng Spokesperson Abel Tau says those implicated should be arrested.

Tau says, “But over and above that, they must face a judge and not a commission. The commission can go on to look at other issues in the rot in the police, it’s okay, but these individuals must be arrested and face the law.”
