About The Mix:
“This mix features a selection of records I would’ve played as mono_sono between 2008 and 2013; never stopped collecting. From 1993 to 2013 I covered jungle through atmospheric and liquid funk to drum funk & choppage. These records were mostly heard in my bedroom as the scene had completely transitioned away from records and had moved to controllers/rekordbox by the time I was involved I would have to take my own decks to gigs. Shout out to Fly Machine Sessions (Pretoria) for allowing a space for me to fully express my sound back then which was heavily influenced by a healthy obsession digging for and chopping breaks and samples. Special mention to the Subvert Central forum, home to many of the artists pushing the boundaries of DNB at the time IMHO.” – mono_sono

My name’s is Jarred Parenzee mostly DJing/producing as 0_0_0_0 (120 – 140 dance music spectrum), but also mono_sono (jungle/dnb/footwork/beats) and The Parenzee Effect (funk/soul/disco/rnb/new wave). I’ve also been doing lots of live sound engineering for bands and club events.
