The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially released the August 2025 payment schedule for all categories of social grants.

Beneficiaries are advised to take note of their respective payout dates and make the necessary preparations to avoid delays in receiving their funds.

According to the SASSA, the payment schedule is staggered to reduce congestion and ensure a smooth process at pay points and ATMs across the country.

The official SASSA pay days for August 2025 are as follows:

• Old Age Grant: August 5, 2025
• Disability Grant: August 6, 2025
• All Other Grants (including Child Grants): August 7, 2025

“To collect your August payments safely and securely, you can visit your payment point a day after the release date of payment, this way, you can avoid the traffic and crowds of other beneficiaries at ATMs,” the agency advised.

Beneficiaries are also reminded to ensure their bank cards and accounts are active and functioning ahead of their scheduled payment dates.

“In case there is an issue with your card, such as it being expired or your bank account is halted due to any other reason, you’ll not be able to collect your payment,” SASSA warned.

The agency further stressed the importance of resolving any banking or card-related issues before payday to avoid any disruptions.

“On the official SASSA payment dates, you must be at your related payment point to receive your SASSA payment.”

SASSA continues to implement staggered payment schedules to prevent overcrowding at pay points and ATMs.

“You must be aware that SASSA doesn’t disburse all its payments for all grants on the same date to avoid rush and chaos in the country,” the agency said.

Beneficiaries are encouraged to plan ahead and reach out to SASSA offices if they encounter any difficulties with their accounts or cards.
