Police nab 28-year-old suspect with 4 000 mandrax tablets in George – SABC News
A 28-year-old foreign national has appeared in the Thembalethu Magistrates Court in George, Western Cape, after being found with drugs worth R200 000.
The suspect was caught by K9 members during a patrol in Thembalethu.
Police spokesperson Chris Spies says members approached a suspicious-looking vehicle and the driver then fled. They caught him and found 4 000 mandrax tablets in the vehicle.
The Nigerian national faces a charge of dealing in drugs. He was remanded in custody, and the matter was postponed to July 28 for a formal bail application.
