Thursday's weather: Showers and cool temperatures across South Africa
Thursday will bring partly cloudy skies and cool to cold temperatures across much of South Africa, with isolated showers and thundershowers lingering in the central interior and eastern provinces. While no new severe weather alerts have been issued, residual wet conditions may still affect parts of KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, and Eastern Cape.

Gqeberha: A drier, warmer day with sunny intervals. High of 22°C, low of 9°C.
East London: Cloudy with light showers possible in the morning, clearing later. High of 22°C, low of 11°C.
Mthatha: Overcast with isolated thundershowers possible in surrounding areas.
KwaZulu-Natal
Durban: Partly cloudy and warmer, high of 23°C, low of 13°C.
Pietermaritzburg: Mild with patchy showers still possible inland.
Mpumalanga
Cloudy and cool with isolated showers, especially over the escarpment.
Mbombela: Temperatures around 19–21°C (estimate), with light drizzle possible.
Gauteng
Johannesburg: Cloudy at times, high of 18°C, low of 6°C.
Pretoria: Slightly warmer at 20°C, low of 8°C. No rain expected, but cool and overcast early.
Limpopo
Polokwane: Mostly cloudy and cool with a chance of light rain in eastern areas. High of 19°C, low of 7°C.
Free State
Cloudy early, clearing by afternoon.
Bloemfontein: Chilly start at 7°C, warming to a high of 18°C. Isolated showers may affect eastern districts.
North West
Mild with patchy cloud cover. Mostly dry, with highs around 19–21°C.
Western Cape
Cape Town: Breezy and cooler with cloud build-up. High of 17°C, low of 12°C.
Expect light winds and cooler sea temperatures.
Garden Route: Partly cloudy with a chance of light drizzle inland.
Northern Cape
Upington: Dry and warm with a high of 24°C, low of 9°C.
Kimberley: Clear and pleasant, with highs near 21°C.
