Two men killed in Khayelitsha as shooting incidents plague the area – SABC News

There’s been yet another shooting incident on the Cape Flats.

Two men have been killed and another wounded in Khayelitsha.

More than 20 people have been killed in a series of shooting incidents across the Cape Flats in the past few weeks.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg says officers found the bodies of the two men with gunshot wounds in the latest incident.

He says the wounded man has been taken to hospital.

“The 25 and 34-year-old victims were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other victim was taken to a medical facility for medical treatment. The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation and arrests are yet to be made.”

Earlier this month, community policing forums from the Cape Flats gathered at the Lentegeur Police Station in Cape Town to discuss the recent spate of killings, among other things.

For communities, the situation is dire as people are terrorised and traumatised while the violence continues unabated.
