Bok Women unleash big guns
Swys de Bruin has recalled experienced trio Ayanda Malinga, Danelle Lochner and Lindelwa Gwala to the Springbok Women match-day squad for Saturday’s clash against the Black Ferns.
This will be the team’s final hit-out before heading to England for the Rugby World Cup.

Malinga returns on the left wing after shaking off a shoulder strain that sidelined her for last week’s match. Lochner, back from a facial fracture, slots into the pack, while Gwala – the Boks’ most-capped hooker with 35 Tests – is also back after missing the series against Canada.
“These are the last tweaks,” said De Bruin.
“Some were forced by niggles, but the rest are about making sure everyone is ready for what’s coming in England.”

There’s also a boost in the backs with Byrhandré Dolf back in the starting lineup, while Nadine Roos switches to scrumhalf to partner flyhalf Libbie Janse van Rensburg. Aphiwe Ngwevu starts at centre alongside Zintle Mpupha, forming a new midfield combination.
Up front, Sinazo Mcatshulwa returns to her preferred blindside flank, while Yonela Ngxingolo earns a rare start at loosehead after mostly being used as a versatile bench option in recent seasons.
With Nolusindiso Booi still unavailable, Babalwa Latsha continues to lead the team, with Janse van Rensburg as vice-captain.
“We want to see more freedom on attack,” said De Bruin.
“But that only counts if we finish our lead-up play. We’re so close to clicking – now it’s about getting it right before we fly out.”
