Vehicle crashes in KZN and EC claim nine lives within 24hrs – SABC News
Nine people have been killed in two separate crashes in two provinces in the past 24 hours. In the first crash, five people were killed in a collision between two vehicles in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday morning and one of the vehicles caught fire during the impact.
The KwaZulu-Natal Transport spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya says he has dispatched a team to swiftly get in touch with the families of the victims.
“This is a very difficult time and a dedicated team has been dispatched to work with the families. We are waiting for a report from the highly efficient team of the road traffic inspectorate to help us determine the cause of the accident.

Meanwhile, in the second crash four people were killed in a collision between a minibus taxi and a light motor vehicle on the R63 between Maqoma and Alice in the Eastern Cape on Saturday night. The deceased were in the light motor vehicle while three occupants of the minibus taxi were seriously injured.
