A Limpopo pig farmer and his two workers accused of killing two women and disposing of their bodies in a pigsty had their trial postponed to Thursday in the High Court in Polokwane.
Zacharia Olivier and farm employees allegedly shot and killed two women at a pigsty at Onverwacht outside Polokwane in August last year.
The accused killed Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu, while a third victim escaped.
Meanwhile, accused number two, Rudolf de Wet, has turned into a state witness. He’ll now testify against Olivier and a Zimbabwean national, William Musora.
They allegedly fed the remains of Makgato and Ndlovu to the pigs at an Onverwacht farm.
The accused have been in custody since their arrest in August last year.
Accused number two, De Wet will have charges against him dropped as he turned into a state witness.
The lawyer of accused number 2 and three, Muhammed Farouk Valjee, confirms that accused number 2 has turned into a state witness
“I confirm that accused number two is now a state witness in terms of section 204, and has been provided with an application to the court for the charges to be withdrawn against accused number 2 on the day of his testimony.”
Defence lawyer for accused number one, Olivier, has told the court that he had challenges consulting with his client who’s been in custody.
The trial has been adjourned to Thursday.
