Four killed in Pietermaritzburg taxi crash – SABC News
Four people have been killed in a taxi accident on Mpumuza Road in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal.
KZN Private Ambulance Service spokesperson Craig Botha says a taxi lost control, veered off the road and overturned, colliding into a nearby school building yesterday.
Botha says, “The incident resulted in four fatalities, two patients in critical condition and five patients sustaining serious injuries. KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service paramedics provided immediate on-scene medical care and transported the injured to local hospitals.”
He says, “An 8-year-old child was in a serious condition and among those treated. An investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway by the relevant authorities.”-Reporting by Samke Mtshali.
