Mashatile leads clean cities and towns campaign in Mangaung – SABC News


The Deputy President, Paul Mashatile has arrived in Mangaung for the “Clean cities and towns campaign”. The programme is part of efforts to strengthen the District Development Model to improve the coherence and impact of government service delivery.

Today, I will be in Bloemfontein to lead the Clean Cities and Towns Campaign.

Launched in June 2025, the campaign is aimed at fostering cleaner, greener, and more inclusive communities.

Mashatile is accompanied by Free State Premier MaQueen Letshoha Matha, MECs as well as Mangaung Metro Executive Mayor Gregory Nthatisi, where they are cleaning up an illegal dumping site in Pieter Swarts as a start before moving to other areas of Mangaung.

The campaign by the Deputy President is a national initiative aimed at fostering cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable urban and rural environments, with communities taking part in cleaning their environments.
