Alleged drug dealer to appear in KZN court – SABC News

A 32-year-old alleged drug dealer arrested for possession of R4 million worth of dagga in Dundee, northern KwaZulu-Natal, is expected to make a court appearance today.

Police say the man was arrested after an intelligence-driven operation received a tip-off about a vehicle entering the country from Eswatini with a load of dagga.

Police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says, “Police gathered intelligence about a vehicle which was entering the country from Eswatini via Paulpietersburg with a load of dagga. Members attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away. A chase ensued and police managed to stop the suspect’s vehicle in Dundee.”

“Police found compressed bags of dagga. A total of 90 bags full of dagga, with an estimated street value of R4 million were seized.  The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged with dealing in dagga. He will appear at the Dundee Magistrates Court today,” says Ngcobo.
