Katiso “KT” Molefe bail application postponed to 15 August – SABC News

The bail application of Katiso “KT” Molefe has been postponed to the 15th of this month by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court, north of Johannesburg.

Molefe and three others were arrested in Gauteng last month for the murders of Oupa John Sefoka, popularly known as DJ Sumbody, and two of his bodyguards in 2022.

The state is opposing the bail application, saying Molefe is a violent and dangerous criminal facing extremely serious charges.

The state has called on the court to deny Molefe’s bail application, stating that he is facing very serious charges and that he is already out on bail for another murder case, which is being heard in Vereeniging.

The state also highlights that they have proof that Molefe had direct connections to some of his co-accused, who are believed to be hitmen for hire.

The prosecutor further went on to state that they have cellphone records which indicate that Molefe was also in contact with his co-accused shortly after the murder of DJ Sumbody.

The bail application has been postponed to the 15th of August for a further affidavit to be submitted by the defence.
