Gauteng residents urged to be vigilant amid expected thunderstorms – SABC News


Gauteng authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant after the South African Weather Service issued a warning for severe thunderstorms in most parts of the province.

The extreme weather conditions could result in localised flooding especially in low-lying areas.

Very cold temperatures, hail and strong winds are expected to continue until tonight.

City of Tshwane spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni, “Maximum temperatures are expected to be low. The severe thundershowers are expected with 60 percent chance of rain occurring in Tshwane.”
