Boland Landbou beat an understrength Oakdale Landbou in the Farmer’s Derby, while there were also wins for Affies, Maritzburg College and Graeme College on Saturday.

Boland Landbou won 34-27 in Riversdale against an Oakdale Landbou side missing five key players on SA U18 and SA U18 A duty.

Captain and flyhalf Pieter Bergh led from the front for Boland Landbou, scoring 10 points with the boot – three conversions and a drop goal.

Wing Jadon Ocks was named Man of the Match after scoring a try and also making a big impact on defence and at the breakdown.

In the Eastern Cape, Graeme College ended Queen’s College’s impressive winning streak with a thrilling 20-17 victory on the Somerset Field. The hosts raced into a 20-5 half-time lead before holding off a fierce second-half fightback from the visitors to secure a memorable win.

Meanwhile, Dale College edged Selborne College 19-15.

In Gauteng, Affies brushed off local rivals Pretoria Boys’ 41-12, Jeppe beat Parktown 22-13 and Monument defeated Rustenburg 24-14 in the Noordvaal Cup.

In a big KwaZulu-Natal clash, Maritzburg College beat Glenwood 14-10, while DHS thrashed Joburg visitors KES 52-19.
