Chesnay Keppler murder accused back in court for bail hearing – SABC News
The former police officer charged with the murder of his Gauteng Crime Warden girlfriend will know whether he’ll be released on bail when the case resumes at the Protea Magistrates’ Court today.
Mandla Buthelezi allegedly shot and killed 22-year-old Chesnay Keppler in Eldorado Park, south of Johannesburg in December last year following a domestic dispute.
The accused has been in custody since his arrest and is facing a murder charge.
During the court sitting last week, father of the deceased Trevor Keppler, said that they hope the accused does not get bail.
“I’m just a little bit disappointed because it has been postponed because the magistrate hasn’t finalised the judgment. So, we are going to have to come back on the11th of August. He should remain where he is, hopefully next week Monday he will be denied bail.”
