Lusikisiki mass killing trial postponed to Tuesday – SABC News

The trial of six men accused of mass murder of 18 people at Ngobozana Village in Lusikisiki last year, has been postponed to tomorrow, by the Mthatha High Court special sitting in the Lusikisiki Magistrate’s Court in the Eastern Cape.

Today, the state called three witnesses which included two constables and a police photographic crime expert.

The last witness to testify from the trio was Constable Thandazile Njube who attended the crime scene of the late ANC politician based in KwaBhaca, Mncedisi Gijana.

Gijana was killed prior the mass murder of 18 people and the state has linked the firearms used to his murder to the mass murder.

State witness Constable Thandazile Njube told the court that after the brutal killing of the ANC Alfred Nzo Region leader, she attended the crime scene.

On her arrival, Gijana’s younger brother, Sisa gave her four empty cartridges.

She says the ballistic report indicated the cartridges she was given, match with those collected at Ngobozana village.

But accused number one, Mzukisi Ndamase, representing himself, refuted the witnesses’ evidence as he argued that the crime scene was contaminated.

The accused are facing a string of charges which include murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to murder and kidnapping.
