Suspect appears in Hermanus court for murder – SABC News


A 37-year-old man is expected to appear in the Hermanus Magistrates’ Court in the Overberg in the Western Cape today for allegedly gunning down a woman.

Police spokesperson, Novela Potelwa, says the 59-year-old woman sustained gunshot wounds during the incident which happened outside a mall in Hermanus last week.

Officers seized two vehicles and a firearm. Potelwa says more arrests are expected.

Potelwa added, “The suspect was arrested as part of the SAPS serious crime investigation. The taxi violence unit detectives are still hard at work in search of more suspects as the incident is believed to be linked to conflict within the taxi industry.”
