ACT condemns misuse of gov fleet for private trips – SABC News

The African Congress for Transformation (ACT) says it condemns the misuse of government fleet.

This comes after a government vehicle overturned between Verkeerdevlei and Winburg on the N1 in the Free State, allegedly carrying Mangaung Council Whip and ANC regional secretary.

ACT Spokesperson Mohau Khumalo says taxpayer-funded vehicles are for service delivery, not political errands or private trips. The party is calling for the suspension of all involved and the recovery of all costs from the responsible individuals.

Meanwhile, Mangaung Metro spokesperson Qondile Khedama has confirmed the incident.

He says the council whip is in a good state but could not confirm as to how many people were involved, and whether the ANC Mangaung secretary was one of the occupants or not.
