ANC to take steps against Gigaba, Mchunu over party comments – SABC News

The African National Congress (ANC) says two of its National Executive Committee members, Malusi Gigaba and Senzo Mchunu, will face the party’s disciplinary committee following their public statements.

This follows Gigaba’s claims that the ANC has “lost its way” and failed to achieve its goals.

Mchunu warned that the party is on the verge of collapse.

ANC National spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri says the party condemns such behaviour and disciplinary action is inevitable.

“The necessary steps must be taken to correct that kind of behaviour. The two colleagues are going to be called before the disciplinary committee of the ANC and we expect all our members to act and be exemplary, particularly those that are in elected positions, let alone the fact that they are also in the NEC and so we frown upon this behaviour. They have a privilege of serving in the highest body of the organisation, there cannot be a step out of that – it’s unacceptable.”
