22 high school learners suspended over violence in Roodepoort – SABC News
The Gauteng Education Department has confirmed the suspension of about 19 learners from West Ridge high school and three from Hoërskool Roodepoort, over a violent school feud earlier this week.
Three learners were hospitalised as a result.
The Department’s spokesperson, Steve Mabona says the suspended learners will be undergoing a seven-day disciplinary hearing.
“Accordingly we will monitor this disciplinary process and see what we are going to get out of them. In addition, the three learners were seriously injured and were admitted on Monday. We can now update you that two are still under medical care at the medical facilities. One was discharged today. We call on parents to make sure they instill discipline in their children.”
