Limpopo school principal accused of sexual assault to appear in court – SABC News
A Limpopo school principal arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a learner is expected to appear in the Thabamoopo Magistrate’s Court in Lebowakgomo today.
Police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba says the 51-year-old principal allegedly sexually assaulted the 17-year-old girl in his office on Saturday last week.
The learner had gone to the principal’s office to collect her cellphone, which her class teacher had confiscated.
The principal allegedly touched the learner inappropriately while her classmates were waiting outside the office.
Mashaba says the principal was arrested on Wednesday.
He says, “The principal allegedly instructed her (the learner) to come alone to his office. The victim informed her friend to wait outside before returning to the office, where the suspect allegedly touched her inappropriately and sexually assaulted her. The victim reported the incident to her family.”
Meanwhile, in another case in Limpopo, a former school teacher allegedly raped a 13-year-old learner at a primary school outside Polokwane in Limpopo.
He was denied bail earlier this year after appearing in court.
