Manhunt launched after woman gunned down in New Brighton – SABC News
Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for suspects following the fatal shooting of a 47-year-old woman in New Brighton, Gqeberha, on Thursday morning.
The deceased, who is believed to have worked as a councilor’s assistant, was gunned down while waiting outside a property at Dubula Street.
Police spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana says the motive is still unknown. “Preliminary reports indicate the victim was waiting for the owner to open the security gate to access her vehicle, which was parked inside the premises. She was approached by unknown suspects who shot her.
“She sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who might have information that can lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects, to come forward,” Gantana explains.
