The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has announced a comprehensive investigation into a series of brutal shooting incidents that have shaken communities in the province.

This directive comes in light of the recent tragic events in the Westenburg policing area, located just outside Polokwane.

According to police, on Tuesday, officers responded to a distressing crime scene along the D1377 Kuschke gravel road where two male victims, estimated to be aged between 30 and 40, were found dead, one of the victim’s hands was bound. 

At the scene, investigators collected crucial pieces of evidence which included a cartridge case, a maroon jersey, and a cash note. However, despite these findings, the identities of the deceased remain unknown.

Lieutenant General Hadebe has mandated that all murder cases of this nature be promptly transferred to the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit. This strategic move is intended to ensure a coordinated and thorough investigation approach, aimed at not only solving these particular cases but also fostering public trust and safety across Limpopo.

The police have made an urgent appeal to the community, asking anyone with information that could help identify the deceased or assist in capturing those responsible for these violent acts to come forward.
