Kgaogelo Nnonu murder: Boyfriend who confessed to killing nabbed by police



Police in North West have arrested 26-year-old Mfana Ngwenya who is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Kgaugelo Nnonu Morata and allegedly attempting to kill his current partner in a violent stabbing spree.

“The suspect allegedly murdered his ex-girlfriend; a 20-year-old Kgaogelo Marota and attempted to kill his 20-year-old current girlfriend,” said police spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in North West, Major General Patrick Asaneng, praised officers for their quick action. 

Myburgh said the body of Marota was discovered on Thursday, at a tavern in Maubane village.

She had sustained multiple stab wounds and was declared dead at the scene by Emergency and Medical Rescue Services (EMRS).

Investigations revealed that after allegedly stabbing Marota, the suspect went to his home, where he is believed to have stabbed his current girlfriend several times.

“The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment. Following the incidents, the suspect posted the reasons behind his evil deeds on social media,” added Myburgh.

The suspect was arrested in the early hours of Friday, in Carousel View near Maubane.

“They may judge me, but you and I know the truth, you ruined us, as I posted everything on (the) app it will prove that. RIP. I promised you till death do us apart after I fought for your life. Will forever love you Mmamogashwa,” Ngwenya posted on Facebook.

He is expected to appear before the Temba Magistrate’s Court on Monday, August 25, facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
