Four people killed in N3 horror crash
Four people have been killed in another horror accident on the N3 on Saturday morning.
According to the KZN Department of Transport, the crash involves a truck and a minibus taxi near Bergville Interchange.
“We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” the Department said in a statement, adding that a team has been assigned to locate the families of the victims whose lives have been altered by this tragedy.
Last Saturday, five members of a family perished in a crash on the N2 in an accident involving a truck and a light motor vehicle between Amatigulu and Dokodweni.
The truck driver’s body was recovered a few hours later.
The funeral of the five family members is expected to take place on Sunday in Ndwedwe.
“While we are ensuring the visibility of RTI on our roads, it is important to note that road safety is a shared responsibility.
“Research has proven that changing road user behavior is central to making our roads safer. In fact, statistics indicate that up to 87 percent of all road fatalities in the country can be attributed to road user behavior.”
