Two senior Hawks officers to appear in Limpopo court for corruption – SABC News
Two senior Hawks officers accused of interfering with an investigation into the murder case of a Limpopo councillor are expected to appear in the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court today.
Police say the accused Captain Virginia Kupa facilitated a meeting between the complainant, a fellow police officer, and Brigadier Mapome Mohajane in 2022.
This was in an attempt to interfere with investigations.
The Hawks say the two officers face charges of corruption.
They are out on bail.
Kupa and Mohajane will make their first court appearance together.
They previously appeared separately.
It is alleged that Mohajane sought the complainant’s assistance in interfering with a criminal investigation involving a Limpopo councillor.
The case is believed to be related to the killing of ANC councillor Valtyn Kekana in Mokopane in 2019.
