Limpopo woman remanded in custody after she allegedly raped Cameroonian boy at church shelter
A 24-year-old woman from Musina, in Limpopo, has appeared before the Musina Magistrates’ Court facing a count of rape which was perpetrated against a 13-year-old boy.
Limpopo provincial spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said the molested boy is a Cameroonian national.
“It is alleged that on 22 August 2025, at the Roman Catholic Church shelter, the accused called the victim while he was walking past the said shelter. The victim went to the accused and found her lying on the ground naked,” said Malabi-Dzhangi.
“She started inappropriately touching him and further caused him to have sexual intercourse with her against his will.”
The incident was witnessed by one of the residents at the shelter who was going to the dustbin.
The witness then informed the caretaker of the shelter, and police were called to the scene.
The woman was arrested the same day.
Following the accused woman’s court appearance, the matter was postponed to 1 September 2025 for a formal bail application.
Earlier this week, provincial police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the woman, who cannot be named as part of the ongoing investigations, was arrested by detectives attached to the Musina family violence, child protection and sexual offences (FCS) unit on Friday.
On Monday, an 18-year-old Limpopo man and his mother, aged 35, appeared before the Letsitele Magistrate’s Court in connection with the rape of a nine-year-old girl.
