RISE Mzansi calls for more police action against WC taxi violence – SABC News
RISE Mzansi has expressed concern about the recent surge in taxi violence across the Western Cape, including incidents in Khayelitsha, Philippi, and Macassar.
At least six people have been shot this week alone.
The party says competition over taxi routes has contributed to repeated acts of violence, putting residents and commuters at risk.
RISE Mzansi has called on the police to strengthen crime intelligence, increase visible policing, and deploy the National Intervention Unit.
It also urges the Provincial Mobility Department to summon taxi bosses and conduct a review of routes and permits in the industry.
