ActionSA says it will contest the 2026 local government elections (LGE) in not more than 42 municipalities.

The party celebrated its fifth anniversary on Friday.

It was launched on August the 29th during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The party governs Tshwane and has six seats in Parliament, becoming the seventh largest nationally.

ActionSA founding president, Herman Mashaba says they’re looking to contest where there are quality representatives.

“We have identified 42 municipalities that we are going to ensure that no one can govern in this country without ActionSA. Actually, we might even contest less. But we’re going to go for quality rather than quantity,” says Mashaba.
