Two officers arrested for alleged drunk driving in KZN – SABC News
Two off-duty police officers and a taxi driver with an overloaded vehicle have been arrested on charges of drinking and driving at two roadblocks held in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday night.
Provincial Transport Department spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya says in separate incidents, a police officer from Port Edward and a member of the Southport Police Station were arrested with alcohol levels of 1.05 and 0.85 milligrams per litre, respectively.
Sibiya says they were six and four times over the legal limit, respectively.
Law enforcement officials also arrested a taxi driver who was five times over the legal alcohol limit while driving a taxi with 27 passengers.
