Last week, the state concluded its cross-examination of the state witness from Crime Intelligence who oversees applications of intercepted calls.
This relates to a trial within a trial to determine the admissibility of transcripts of intercepted phone calls between Booysen, Mark Lifman, Andre Naude and others.

The state wants the intercepted calls to be allowed as evidence in the main trial in which Booysen is accused of the murder of international drug smuggler Brian Wainstein in August 2017.
He also faces a number of other charges along with the eleven co-accused.
