Taxi strike leaves KZN commuters stranded for a second day – SABC News

Commuters in Clermont and KwaDabeka, near Pinetown in KwaZulu-Natal, remain stranded for a second day as the taxi strike that began on Tuesday continues.

Taxi operators have suspended operations, demanding the release of their vehicles that were impounded last Friday, allegedly for not having permits.

This comes after violent clashes between the taxi association and e-hailing services.

On Tuesday, the Clermont and KwaDabeka taxi association issued a statement saying the strike will remain in effect until their demands are met.
