The Zion Christian Church (ZCC) is expected to hold its New Year consecration conference in Moria City outside Polokwane, Limpopo from today till next week Wednesday.

The annual event is said to be a sacred and significant occasion for the in ZCC congregants.

Church’s spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says all forms of informal trading or vending will be strictly prohibited in front of the church’s headquarters in Moria City.

Ngoepe further explained that the decision was based on safety measures and it didn’t indicate that they were against small businesses.

“This is a time of high traffic volume and increased movement of people, including pedestrians and road users around the church vicinity. In light of this, community members including ZCC congregation are advised to the following, to observe road safety protocols, to obey traffic regulations and signage, respecting pedestrian’s crossings, practicing patience and curtesy for reasons of public safety. The ZCC is not in any way against the SMMEs but that is merely for safety measures.”
