'This man can't even run his X account' : Public outrage as Ramaphosa’s X account posts inappropriate content
Social media users have lashed out at President Cyril Ramaphosa after his official X (formerly Twitter) account appeared to show inappropriate content, including videos featuring nudity and women in revealing clothing.
The incident occured on Friday as Ramaphosa was conducting a Joint National and North West Provincial Executive meeting, which was focused on enhancing intergovernmental collaboration and tackling the shortcomings of local government.
This meeting marked the seventh in a series of interactions between Ramaphosa and the provincial governments, aligned with the priorities of the 7th Administration.

Similar meetings have already taken place in KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape.
Several videos were briefly visible on Ramaphosa’s X account before being deleted.
According to social users who captured screen recordings, one video showed a woman in a short, revealing dress on stage as a man attempted to adjust it.
Another video showed a doll in a dress, with one of its breasts exposed, while a man tried to cover it.
Other clips featured women in short dresses, including one climbing onto a horse while a man used a hat to shield her back from view, and another showing two women on an escalator.
Social media erupted with criticism, questioning Ramaphosa’s ability to manage even basic tasks. Many accused him of being out of touch, calling the incident embarrassing.
“What??? Can Cyril successfully run something, anything? 🤦🏻♀️ That time, he took State Security Agency into his office!!! Ramaphosa is going to get us killed one day and get shocked that we’re dead!!!,” posted @mpasi_rocks.

“It doesn’t really matter. There are only lies coming from there… 😂,” added @Tulisaan.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Presidency acknowledged the issue, attributing it to a technical glitch.
“The Presidency experienced a technical glitch with President Ramaphosa’s X handle. We are in the process of evaluating the source of the glitch, which appears to be a cross-feed that superimposes images on posts from the handle,” the Presidency wrote on X.
The Presidency experienced a technical glitch with President Ramaphosa’s X handle. We are in the process of evaluating the source of the glitch, which appears to be a cross feed that super imposes images on posts from the handle. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.”
Despite the explanation, many users remain sceptical, with some suggesting the account was hacked.
The videos were allegedly meant to showcase Ramaphosa’s address to officials in the North West.
