Ramaphosa was projecting AG report that best-run municipalities are DA governed: Mbalula – SABC News
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says the party’s detractors and opponents took issue with President Cyril Ramaphosa when he was projecting a scientific Auditor-General’s report that the best-run municipalities are those governed by the DA.
Mbalula noted that the DA is also not doing well in the Western Cape, saying that the best-run municipality in the country is Ekurhuleni.
He was speaking ahead of an engagement with ANC councillors as the race to the 2026 Local Government Elections gains momentum

Meanwhile, ANC councillors say they are not shaken by Helen Zille’s mayoral candidacy.
The Democratic Alliance has announced the former Western Cape Premier as their pick for Johannesburg mayor for the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Speaking on the sidelines of the ANC’s report back meeting in the south of Johannesburg today, ANC Johannesburg Regional Secretary Sasabona Manganye says Johannesburg residents will not get behind Zille.
“DA is making our life easier, bringing Helen Zille will confirm the decisive victory of the African National Congress because she can’t relate with the people in Johannesburg. They will not also put their cross next to the DA that is represented by Helen Zille. So we are happy about them bringing the weakest candidate in Johannesburg, that will strengthen our campaign.”
